Hi Everyone
Premier League Matchday 14 starts with the early kick off when Leicester City take on Manchester City at the King Power Stadium
After a woeful start to the season, Leicester have started to find some form and after back to back wins they’ve climbed out of the relegation zone and things are looking much better for the Foxes. Unfortunately Manchester City are in town this weekend and this will certainly test Leicester’s new found confidence.
City aren’t quite in the swashbuckling form of a few weeks ago but nonetheless I expect them to have too much for Leicester in this one. I’m going for a comprehensive 3-0 win to the Citizens.
In the three o’clock kick offs I can see Newcastle United continuing their impressive run with another three points against Aston Villa. Villa enjoyed a resounding win over Brentford last time out and will go into this match with new manager Unai Emery at the helm but I can’t see them getting anything from the game and I’m going for Eddie Howe’s men to win 1-0.
Also at three o’clock, I fancy Tottenham to win 2-0 away at Bournemouth; Brighton to lose 2-1 at home to Chelsea; Crystal Palace to beat Southampton 2-0 at Selhurst Park and Brentford and Wolves to play out a 1-1 draw at the GTech community Stadium.
In the five thirty kick off I fancy Everton to secure a hard-fought point away at Fulham. I don’t expect too many goals in this one but I do fancy Aleksander Mitrovic to bag one of them! He’s continued his incredible goal scoring form from the Championship and looks much improved since his previous stint in the Premier League. I’m going for this one to finish in a 1-1 draw.
The Saturday matches finish with a late kick off and a tasty fixture at Anfield between Liverpool and Leeds United.
These are worrying times for Leeds fans and their team come into this on the back of four straight defeats. Despite Liverpool’s indifferent form this season, I can see the Anfield faithful being right up for this one and I fancy Jurgen Klopp’s men to secure a comfortable 3-0 win.
Just two games on Sunday and we start with a top versus bottom clash at 2 o’clock. Arsenal who sit proudly at the top of the table take on Nottingham Forest at the Emirates.
Rock-bottom Forest secured only their second win of the season against Liverpool last weekend and whilst that will have given everyone at the club a huge lift, I don’t think we’ll see the real Nottingham Forest until after the World Cup break. They added so many players to their squad on the back of their promotion to the Premier League and it will take Steve Cooper some time to get them all bedded-in and comfortable with the style of football he wants them to play.
Arsenal on the other hand have been flying since day one of the season and with another full house and a cacophony of noise at the Emirates, I fancy the Gunners to secure a comfortable 3-0 win.
The final game of Matchday 14 sees Manchester United take on West Ham United at Old Trafford. Both sides are struggling for consistency and that makes this a difficult game to call. However, United’s form at home has been pretty decent this season and with that in mind, I’m going for a narrow 1-0 win to the Red Devils in this one.
