Hi Everyone
No rest in the Premier League as Matchday 13 follows just a day after the conclusion of Matchday 12 and it’s another full set of fixtures this weekend.
First up is the early kick off on Saturday when Nottingham Forest entertain Liverpool at the City Ground. Liverpool backed up their win over Manchester City last weekend with a narrow win over West Ham in mid-week and I fancy them to secure another three points here with a 3-1 away win.
In the three o’clock kick offs on Saturday I’m going with Everton to beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Goodison Park and Manchester City to record a convincing 4-1 win over Brighton at the Etihad.
The late kick off on Saturday is one I am really looking forward to. Chelsea, on the back of a 0-0 draw at Brentford in midweek, face a Manchester United team who must be full of confidence after their 2-0 home win against Spurs on Wednesday evening. It’s a tough one to call but I have a feeling that despite United’s impressive performance against Spurs, their lack of consistency in these early stages of the season may just be their undoing here. I’m going with Chelsea to get back to winning ways with a 2-0 home win.
On Sunday I fancy Aston Villa to secure a much needed three points with a 2-0 win at home to Brentford; Leeds United and Fulham to play out a 1-1 draw; Arsenal to keep their great run going with a 3-0 win away at Southampton and Wolves to edge Leicester City 1-0 at Molineux.
The teatime kick off on Sunday see Tottenham Hotspur host Newcastle United. Antonio Conte will be keen to forget Wednesday night’s defeat at Old Trafford and for his team to continue their push at the top end of the table. Newcastle United on the other hand, are quietly going about their business and will be looking to build on their great home win over Everton in mid-week. This really could go either way but Spurs come into this with a 100% home record this season and I’m going for them to keep that record going with a narrow 2-1 win.
The final game of Matchday 13 takes place on Monday evening when West Ham take on Bournemouth at the London Stadium. Both teams were beaten 1-0 in mid-week but I thought West Ham were slightly unlucky not to pick up at least a point at Anfield. They are playing well enough and if their strikers can find their shooting boots I can see them winning this one 2-0.
